Do y’all ever consider that we a tiny minority who would rather see the technical bits? I’ve seen non car people open the blandest of engines bays and say things like “look how nice/clean it looks” and even “wows”. the days of exposed engines are gone for a reason, no one cares but us and as we all know here, they don't don't want us doing our own work reaaallly

Turbomufflers + fake sounds + plastic covers...almost like automakers are prepping to secretly exclude engines. I can imagine a breaking news story in a few years, with all the beigemobile drivers rushing to Jiffy Lube to make sure their engines aren’t missing. “Check again, my friend Joe drove around a whole year before he found out!”
